museums close 1 day a week (often Tuesday),
and they're generally closed on national
holidays. Usual hours are 9:30am to 5pm.
Some museums, particularly the smaller ones,
close for lunch from noon to 2pm. Please
refer to

Centre
Georges Pompidou
A most controversial building when first
unveiled, it appears "in-side
out", the metal and glass parallel
-piped structure, whose air ducts, heating
shafts, and stairwells are al on the outside
of the building - to gain more space inside,
has become a real eye-catcher and sees
almost as many visitors now as does th
Lourve. The Pompidou Center is home to the
National Museum of Modern Art, which
includes a masterful and diverse collection
of works from many modern schools. Many
temporary exhibits also visit the museum,
which also houses a large public library, a
restaurant, and an internet café. For more

Louvre
World reknowned as "the greatest art
museum on earth" The Louvre is a
fascinating experience. Home to Mona Lisa,
and many many more spectacular works by da
Vinci, Michaelangelo, Caravaggio, Rubens, to
name but a few. The Louvre should definately
not be missed on your visit to Paris.

and alows entrance to the entire museum. For

National
Museum of Natural History
An institution overseeing a number of
museums. In Paris, visit the Museum of
Man at the Trocadero, and the series
of science galleries at the Jardin des
