France
has a fabulous
diversity of sights and scenery that is unrivalled
throughout the world. Each region is a stunning contrast to
the next, from the north's flat fertile lands to the Loire Valley's rolling
green hills, the east's alpine ranges and the beautiful Mediterranean coast.

traditions, from the people, the food and wine, and the cultural and historic differences that
define each region.

you concentrate on one area or region and discover all it
has to offer, you will not be disappointed - You can always

Travelling through France

the time and freedom to explore where and when you
want to. Alternatively, you can get to your destination by
train. The brilliant national railway (SNCF) operates one of the
best servces in the world, to
give you an insight into distances - the train from
Paris is just 4 hours to Alsace, 5 hours to the Alps, 7hours to
the Pyrénées, and 8 hours to the Côte d'Azur. From your
destination, you can still hire a car a tour the region at
your leisure. The 44,000
miles of roads throughout France are good for
long-distance driving. But most of the scenic delights are
off the main " Route Nationale", so if you can,
try to stick to the secondary roads - you will not be
disappointed.
