Lle de France - Paris

France has a fabulous diversity of sights and scenery that is unrivalled throughout the world. Each region is a stunning contrast to the next, from the north's flat fertile lands to the Loire Valley's rolling green hills, the east's alpine ranges and the beautiful Mediterranean coast. Needless to say each region has its own character and traditions, from the people, the food and wine, and the cultural and historic differences that define each region.

To discover France in its entirety is near to impossible on a short holiday, but if you concentrate on one area or region and discover all it has to offer, you will not be disappointed - You can always come back for more another time!

Travelling through France can be a very rewarding experience, especially if you Hire a car and enjoy a self-drive holiday. This allows you the time and freedom to explore where and when you want to. Alternatively, you can get to your destination by train. The brilliant national railway (SNCF) operates one of the best servces in the world, to give you an insight into distances - the train  from Paris is just 4 hours to Alsace, 5 hours to the Alps, 7hours to the Pyrénées, and 8 hours to the Côte d'Azur. From your destination, you can still hire a car a tour the region at your leisure. The 44,000 miles of roads throughout France are good for long-distance driving. But most of the scenic delights are off the main " Route Nationale", so if you can, try to stick to the secondary roads - you will not be disappointed.
