For the best in local produce, the place to go is the local market. All over France every village and town usually has its own market once or twice a week. Here you will undoubtedly find an excellent range of fresh seasonal vegetables and homemade cheeses, cakes and jams. The local French markets are well worth a visit,  but start early! Most markets throughout France are open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, usually from 0730hrs to 1230hrs., but you check the area or town you are going.
